These types of vibrola tailpieces were used on many Gibson® guitars in the mid-late 1960's.
The Long Gibson® style vibrato tailpiece includes the vibrola mechanism, arm, and covered trapeze style mount. Available in chrome, nickel, and gold finishes. These are replications of the OEM equipment used on Gibson® ES series guitars such as the 335®, 345®, 355® as well as the SG®, SG® Custom and Firebird® model guitars.
The short Gibson® style vibrato tailpiece includes the vibrola mechanism and arm with the flat style mount. Available in chrome, nickel, and gold finishes. These are replications of the OEM equipment used on Gibson® guitars such as the Firebird®, SG® Jr, SG® Special, SG® Custom, Melody Maker®, and '67 Flying V® Reissues.
This is my first experience with this type of vibrola. I have an old guild starfire and thought about putting a bigsby on it But decided to try this out.Man it works great. Different feel from a bigsby but none the less still real cool..It was easy to install and was rocking in under a half an hour.
Very well made and heavy duty, nice plating etc. Shipped fast and as per instructions, thank you.
As the title says, I'd love to see instructions on how to install it on guitars which have never had a tree or have had one of the earlier terms. Lots of research is mandatory but a set of varied instructions would be wonderful.
The Lyre/Maestro Style Vibrola For Gibson« Guitars Short Chrome was an exact drop-in replacement for a missing Vibola on a vintage Gibson Melody Maker that came through my shop recently. Easy to install.
