TonePros® US Thread Locking Tailpiece Stud Set For Gibson®
The answer to a big problem!
I had a client bring me his Les Paul with a wrap-around tailpiece complaining of intonation problems caused by the wrap-around bridge "cocking " in the O.E. stud slots. This is a common problem with many instruments with that bridge style. I ordered the Tone pros studs that eliminate the tilting bridge anomaly by having the top of each stud a threaded cap that tightens down on the bridge adjustment lands. When the caps are tightened down, the tilting bridge problem is resolved and the intonation can be properly set.
Keep in mind that there are metric type threads and USS thread depending on the origin of manufacture. The American made Gibson used the USS threads and it was a simple stud swap without having to replace the inserts in the body. As an extra note: I always use a piece of cloth on the end of my screwdriver tip to prevent the plating from chipping when tightening the caps.
