Super Smooth Sounds
Some time ago I came across WD's Centralab capacitors. I had never heard of those before. The 'look' and brandname aroused my curiosity and ordered a few of all available values (.015, .022, .033 and .047). Except for the .015, I gave the caps a try both in old and new guitars. And what we heard was amazing and refreshing at the same time! Centralab caps offer a very smooth, and natural sound. Not too punchy, but very well balanced (think: Peter Green or Snowy White). Plus, they are a great match with WD's Custom CTS Series 450 Pots.
Their .022 cap sounds super smooth with high-end humbuckers like those made by Gibson, Van Zandt, Duncan, Bare Knuckle, or Anderson. (The .015 sounds great in Teles).
Centralab tubular caps are non-microphonic and oil-filled. With a 1" (25.40 mm) length and a 25.64" (9.92 mm) outer diameter they easily fit most electric guitars. Made by Vishay BCComponents: manufacturer of lots of high-end capacitors for all sorts of applications. Texas & Tweed – Netherlands
