Linear for a tone pot?
Says not recommended for use as a Volume control. How many people use linear pots for tone? Odd application.

Nice & Smooth!
I use both CTS and Bourns potentiometers for a variety of Mod work on guitars (for both customers & my own).
These Bourns No-Load pots are excellent in performance--smooth and consistent and pretty good tolerance specs. There is no "glitch" or annoying "scritch" when entering the no load zone (zero resistance) as lesser pots have.
They are quit comparable to the CTS versions, if you are comparing, but typically have less resistance (physical, not electrical) to tuning the knob.
There is a little orientation nub sticking out of the the shaft side of the pot's case on recent versions, but it breaks off neatly and cleanly with a little twist from the flat end of a pliers.

The best No Load tone pots
These were purchased for a customer build. You just can't beat Bourns pots they are reliable and smooth operating. One of the big bene's of the Bourns no load is the detent when it is in the no load position. These pots are highly recommend for tone shaping.

WD is the Best !
Although I have experience with Bourn products, shopping with WD is a real pleasure! Quality is the word to best describe the WD Company. Never been disappointed and don't expect to be, WD is awesome!
