We used only premium, lightweight alder and solid flame maple top in the construction of this body. All important holes have been drilled for out of the box action. Alder Wood Tone:Alder is the classic Strat body wood, dating back to the late 1950's. Alder is found in more 3 single coil, double cut-away guitars than any other. It produces that signature warm and mellow vintage Strat tone. The sound is a thicker, midrange tone and it is very full in the low midrange but still produces enough upper midrange to be clear and articulate. Solid Flame Maple Top:A solid maple flame top has been used to construct this Strat body. Solid tops are slightly more expensive than veneer tops, however, look much more 3 dimensional and don't have that thin veneer, faux appearance. The tonal qualities of a maple / alder combination is slightly different, however, only an expert ear can pick up the subtle difference. It is very popular for many styles of music because of the wide tonal spectrum that it produces. It brings forth a very rich, full sound.
